Google Launches App To Find Jobs In India As 4 Million Youth Unemployed Due To COVID-19
COVID-19 pandemic has affected our lives in more ways than one. While some people are struggling to maintain a healthy work-life balance, others have lost their jobs altogether. It’s clearly a tough time for a lot of people, especially the youth, who are struggling to make ends meet this pandemic.
Well, looks like Google wants to make things a little easier and has hence decided to launch a new app called Kormo in India. It’s essentially an app that’ll offer a helping hand to millions of people who’re looking for a job in the country.
It’s, obviously, not as sophisticated as, say, LinkedIn which is now vastly used to find jobs. Kormo is more of a platform to find entry-level listings. In addition to helping users identify open calls for entry-level roles, the app is also designed to help them learn new skills and even create a CV.
We think this is going to come in handy especially at a time when there’s a shift in focus across various businesses with a requirement of new skills. Bickey Russell, Regional Manager, and Operations Lead at Kormo Jobs said the company will continue to invest in bringing new features and jobs to the app in the future
We think Google has done the right thing here by launching an app that’s more catered towards helping people find entry-level jobs now.
