Here’s why some Tata Sky subscribers will get credits soon: Details
Sony recently discontinued its Hindi music channel, Sony Mix and sports channels – Sony ESPN SD and Sony ESPN HD, and subsequently reduced prices of its 24 existing bouquets. The price reduction on a bouquet starts at Rs 0.5 and go up to Rs 5.2. These new prices are now effective across the country, however, Direct to Home (DTH) operators haven’t made any announcement regarding the change in price yet except Tata Sky.
Tata Sky has reportedly announced to reduce the price of Sony Pictures Network India (SPNI) Happy India which was affected due to the shut down of the three channels. It was unable to update the price of the impacted Sony pack before due to the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
Tata Sky has updated its systems and is now giving benefits of the reduced price of Sony Pictures Network India (SPNI) Happy India Pack to its eligible subscribers.
Eligible Tata Sky subscribers to get credits
DreamDTH report suggests that Tata Sky will now pass on the benefit of Sony Pictures Network India (SPNI) Happy India Pack price reduction to eligible subscribers as credits to their Tata Sky accounts.
So, if you are a Tata Sky user who had subscribed to Sony Pictures Network India Happy India Pack, you will get credits in your Tata Sky account as a refund from the operator as Sony Mix, Sony ESPN SD and Sony ESPN HD will no longer be aired.
While announcing the change in price, Tata Sky in an official statement stated, “Effective from 31-3-2020, Sony has discontinued Sony MIX, Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD. Due to the national lockdown, we are unable to incorporate the reduced prices of the impacted Sony packs and corresponding Tata Sky packs in our systems. However, the benefit of the price reduction will be passed on to the eligible subscribers holding the impacted packs, as credits to their Tata Sky account.”
