Telcos to Increase Tarrifs Soon: VI Announces to Go 1st If Required
All the players in the telecom industry believe that the industry cannot thrive on the current prices allocated for voice and data services.
Representatives have had detailed discussion with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India to set a floor price for these services on a priority basis, which could improve the health of the telecom sector.
Additionally, the CEO of VI, Ravinder Takkar has commented on Friday that VI shall not shy away from hiking the voice and data services tariffs and could be the 1st telco among the three major private players in the country to do so, if required.
“If you look at the current pricing, there is something wrong with it…We have said before that we will not shy away from hiking prices and we will be happy to be the first one to do so. We hope others in the industry will follow.”, says Takkar.
